Interactive Youth is a three day program for students ready to expand technical skills, repertoire, and performance strategies with renowned beatboxing flutist, Greg Patillo, and award winning ensemble PROJECT Trio in South Haven, MI

PROJECT Trio has invited YOU to join them for their Saturday evening concert! Let’s get started working on selected pieces together.
9:30 Campfire
Long day, summer campfire on a private beach. It doesn’t get much better.
FRIDAY
8:30 Group Activity: Breath + Expression + Interpretation
Join Roots Yoga and a special guest as they show you how to use your breath to increase expression and interpretation.
9:00 The Long and Short of Tone
Pick up your instrument and work on interpretation, color, through tone, technique with Melissa Kay
11:00 Surprise Activity!

12:30 Lunch
Lunch provided by Foundry Hall and the South Haven Community
3:00 LoFi Tunes
You know the lofi hip hop music on YouTube? Dissect it and make your own lofi tunes with analog instruments.
4:00 Beatboxing
Spend time with Greg as he guides you through beatboxing exercises. Polish up your boots and cats, it’s going to be a whirlwind.

Joint rehearsal with PROJECT Trio and the Interactive Flute Retreat adult attendees

9:00 Kayak Trip
Take a trip down the river and explore the beauty of South Haven
11:00 Picnic Lunch
Picnic lunch will be provided in town after the guided kayaking trip.
12:30 Class and Rehearsal
Continue the journey through color and expression in classical music. Selected students will perform a piece of their choice for PROJECT Trio in an informal masterclass setting.
3:00 Ensemble with the Interactive Flute Retreat guests and PROJECT Trio!
